Working with Graphs

With some queries of an Event-Management Database, TLC presents the query results (i.e. Events, Scanner Events, or Hosts) in a graph. For example, if you create and run a Graph Task, TLC generates a pie chart, line chart, or bar graph to illustrate the query results.

To generate query results consisting of a graph, see:

Working with the Event-Database Viewer

Running a Graph Task

You can use the Graph Toolbar (see Figure 50) and Annotation Toolbar (see Figure 51) to work with a graph. With the Graph Toolbar, you can modify the appearance and format of the graph. With the Annotation Toolbar, you can apply labels, callouts, and other elements to the graph (i.e., annotation elements).

To open the Graph Toolbar, right-click the graph's background and select Toolbars > Toolbar.

To open the Annotation Toolbar, right-click the graph's background and select Toolbars > Annotation Toolbar.

You can also access some of the features available in these toolbars by right-clicking the graph or the graph's background. If you right-click a component of the graph (such as a bar in a bar graph), the right-click menu also includes the following options:

Search for related items opens the Task Manager. TLC auto-populates the Filter Wizard tab with conditions for the selected graph component. For more information, see Working with the Task Manager.

View related items opens a tab with the Events, Scanner Events, or Hosts that comprise the component. For more information, see Working with Tables.

View Time Graph opens a time graph for the Events, Scanner Events, or Hosts that comprise the component.

Color changes the color of the selected component.
