Configuring a VMware ESXi Server

CollectorA TLC module that gathers or receives log messages from Log Sources.: Network CollectorA type of Collector that listens for Syslog and SNMP-based log messages from network devices. - Syslog

To configure a Syslog Daemon to send log messages to TLC:

1.

Log into the vSphere client or vCenter.

2.

Select the ESXi server.

3.

In the Configuration tab, select Advanced Settings.

4.

Expand Syslog and select Remote.

5.

In the Syslog.Remote.Hostname field, enter the name of the TLC Collector to which the ESXi server will send log messages.

6.

Re-start the ESXi server.
