Changing a Manager's Email Settings
In the following circumstances, you must configure the Email tab in a Manager's properties dialog:
If one or more recipients have been added to the Email Report tab in a Scheduled Task (see Working with the Task Scheduler) that applies to the Manager, TLC will refer to these settings to send e-mails to the recipients.
If the Manager is backed up by a Failover Manager (see Adding a Failover Manager), TLC will refer to these settings to e-mail the administrator user account with updates when/if the failover process is initiated.
To change the email settings for a Manager:
| 1. | In the side bar, select Resources >  Configuration Manager. | 
| 2. | In the side bar of the Configuration Manager, select  Resources >  Managers. | 
| 3. | In the workspace, double-click a Manager. | 
| 4. | In the Manager dialog, select and edit the Email tab (see Table 45). | 
| 5. | To test the settings in the Email tab, click Test. | 
| Note | To reset the Email tab to the default settings, click Reset. |

| Subject | The subject line for email messages. | 
| SMTP Server | The IP Address or host name of the email server used by the Manager. To specify a port, append the port number to the end of the IP address or host name; for example: smtp.server.com:465 | 
| From | The email address from which messages are sent. | 
| Authentication | An authentication method to be used by the Manager. | 
| Enable SSL/TLS | Enables either Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) for email messages. If the SMTP Server field specifies port 587, TLC uses TLS. Otherwise, TLC uses SSL. | 
| SMTP user account | The username of an SMTP user account. TLC uses this account to authenticate with the SMTP server. | 
| Password | The password for the user account. | 
| Enable SMTP email proxy | If you use an SMTP email proxy, select this option to enable the proxy. | 
| Cryptographic Protocols | If the Enable SSL/TLS setting is selected, you can specify the cryptographic protocols with which the Manager will send e-mails. Otherwise, TLC will use all protocols in this field for e-mail communications. Note: To successfully employ a cryptographic protocol for e-mail, the protocol must also be enabled in: The e-mail server The operating system of the e-mail server The operating system of your TLC Manager TLC will employ the most secure protocol supported by all of these systems. |
