Assigning Locations to an Asset

For an overview of how Locations work with the Audit Logger, see About Locations and the Audit Logger.

To change the list of Locations assigned to an Asset:

1. In the side bar, select Resources >Configuration ManagerConfiguration Manager.
2. In the side bar of the Configuration Manager, select ResourcesResources >AssetsAssets.

TLC presents your Assets in the workspace table.

Tip

You can sort, group, and filter the contents of tables. For more information, see Working with Tables).

3. In the workspace, double-click the Asset. In the Asset properties dialog, select the Settings tab.
4. To assign a single Location to the Asset, select a Location from the Location drop-down list.

To assign multiple Locations to the Asset:

a. Select Multiple from the Location drop-down list.

TLC adds a Locations tab to the Asset properties dialog.

b. Select the Locations tab.
c. ClickAddAdd to add a line to the Locations tab.
d. In the new line, click the Location field and select a Location from the drop-down list.
e. In the line's Search Criteria field, enter a .NET regular expression to identify log messages to be assigned to the Locations.

To remove a Location from the Locations tab, select the Location's line and clickDelete/RemoveRemove.

Your changes will not take effect until you push updates to your Managers (see Pushing Updates to your Managers).
